Pre-Migration Setup Overview

Before creating a migration job, you need to configure the infrastructure components that the job will use. These components define how the suite connects to your source and destination environments.

Kafka Clusters

Register your source and destination Kafka clusters with connection details and security credentials. See Kafka Clusters.

Connect Clusters

Configure Kafka Connect clusters if you plan to use MirrorMaker 2 or Confluent Replicator as your replication tool. See Connect Clusters.

Schema Registry

Register schema registries if your migration includes Avro, Protobuf, or JSON schemas. See Schema Registry.

Tip

These components can be created either before starting the job creation wizard or during the wizard itself. However, it is recommended to have your clusters and registries configured and tested beforehand to streamline the job creation process.
